Second Skin
An exclusive feature and absolute added value offered by all Danca furniture is the fact that they all have double covers. Each piece of furniture has an extra, cotton inside cover (second skin). This contributes to the durability of the seating furniture. An additional advantage is that even if the outer cover is removed, the seating furniture continues to be presentable and can still be used thanks to this inside cover. One important plus point is that the covers are very easy to remove and put on again, without any tools.
Clear instructions in the product manual mean that anyone can do this without any help.
Wood for the frames is cut to size in the sawmill. Then they are put together. Only environmentally sound, solid beech is used, in combination with multiplex. Next, the wooden frame is clad in different types of foam. Danca uses high-quality cold foam for the seat and back cushions: this is a type of foam with an open structure, which makes it very resilient. The cold foam used for the seat cushions can take more weight than the back cushions, but together they provide the same level of comfort.
The foam used is CFC-free and water-based glues are used.
Next, Dacron is applied to the foam, which optimises the comfort of the seating furniture. A first, cotton inside cover is put on top of this (second skin) and protects both the Dacron and the foam material. Finally, the piece of furniture is finished off with removable covers. These are cut to size with an ultramodern CNC cutter and are then stitched and overlocked by hand. In this way, Danca combines traditional craftsmanship with innovative and industrial know-how.
